Future Goals:

  • Improve current models for insect migration.
  • Increase the use of GIS and GPS to help improve the control of insect pests.
  • Develop near-real-time forecast models for insect migration to help decrease the need for large scale use of pesticides.
  • Investigate the use of current NOAA and NWS technologies and products for monitoring insect movement.
