Summary:

Fungicide application in corn is an emerging market. Work was done over the past two years, in cooperation with Aerial Applicators to evaluate spray distribution patterns in the crop canopy. Spray cards were place at multiple levels within the canopy and analyzed for spray droplet distribution. Additionally, fluorescent dye was also included in the spray tank to visually examine the droplet distribution with black light illumination. Photos of the spray coverage were taken and will be shown. Trials were conducted in corn fields in Louisiana, Iowa, and Nebraska in 2007 and soybeans in Louisiana and Mississippi in 2006. Treatments were selected to identify and compare different adjuvant and water volumes for coverage and droplet analysis. The report will present the analysis from all three trials.
