Large field performance of application with defoliants and low rate insecticides for cotton defoliation and control of overwintering boll weevil

Problem:  
Objective: Assess quality of defoliation with remote sensing technology
Approach: Commercial cotton will be sprayed with Def,1pint/ac (0.5x rate) + Dropp, 0.1 lb/ac (0.5x rate) + Guthion, 0.125 lb AI/ac (0.5x rate) and the effects of those on boll weevil mortality and quality of defoliation will be  compared with conventional defoliation fields.  Quality of defoliation will be assessed by airborne color-infrared (CIR) digital images, ground reflectance spectra and number of leaves per plant.
